What we collect. Why. What we don’t.

You can browse ElectionKnight without an account. We don’t require sign-in to read any candidate’s profile.

We collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for operational purposes — debugging, abuse prevention, basic aggregate analytics. We do not link these logs to your identity.

We do not personalize the candidate directory based on who you are. Candidate order is random and identical for every visitor.

When you register a candidate profile, we collect: name, email, phone (optional), office sought, party affiliation, community served, and whatever content you choose to publish (photo, two 250-word sections, links).

Email and phone are private by default; the candidate can choose to make them public on the profile.

We use Supabase (Postgres) to store profile data, Resend to send invite emails, Stripe to process Campaign Plus subscriptions, and Textiton to send voter SMS (paid tier only, opt-in audience).

• We don’t sell personal data.
• We don’t run advertising.
• We don’t share candidate audiences across campaigns.
• We don’t accept money in exchange for placement.

If you receive an SMS from a candidate via Textiton, reply NOT FOR ME to opt out permanently across the entire Textiton network. The opt-out is honored instantly and applies to every Originator (candidate, organization) on the platform.
